Horseback riding is an exciting, challenging, and fun sport, one that can be enjoyed from childhood through senior years. An excellent riding and boarding stable in this area is Rolling Hills Ranch, home of the Freedom Hills Therapeutic Riding Program, which offers riding for physically, mentally, and emotionally challenged children and adults, located at 33 Rolling Hills Ranch Lane in Port Deposit. Here, they instruct everyone from beginners to advanced riders, specializing in dressage and eventing. They can provide gentle, school horses for all ages or can help you with your mount. Renee Dixon, director and founder of FHTRP was named Region II Certified Credentialed Professional of the Year in 2018 by the Professional Association for Therapeutic Horsemanship. Renee Dixon is certified in American Riding Instruction, Centered Riding Level III, Parelli Level II, and North American Riding for the Handicap Association-advanced certification. Rolling Hills Ranch conducts schooling shows, cross country riding, and riding camps – winter, spring, and summer.
